1. Cabbage Introduction

Cabbage is a popular crop in northern Namibia. It is grown in small plots in gardens with additional water or in larger more commercial farms with irrigation systems. It grows throughout the year, but production is still best during the cold or cooler season, as the summer months are too hot for good quality cabbage.

2. Cabbage pests

The main pests are Diamond-back moth, cabbage webworm, bagrada bug and cabbage aphids. Each of these pests have the potential of reducing the marketable yield severely or completely destroying the crop.
