PEST STATUS
Monkey beetles are found in small clusters
on grasses with dense spikes and occasionally on pearl millet heads. They
are widespread but not common in Omusati and Ohangwena regions. The beetle
is easily noticed, as it bores the body into heads of grasses or pearl
millet until only the black legs stick out. The pest status is unknown.
DESCRIPTION
A small beetle, 7 mm long, silver-grey
with two brown stripes along the back. The hind legs are long and dark.
